Hitting the High Notes

I just read Hitting the High Notes about why it makes sense to hire the best programmers possible. The article also talks about creating the best possible working conditions in order to attract and keep talent. Sounds great ;) Also kind of sounds like what Google and Yahoo! are currently doing.
