Framed
I mentioned in an earlier post that I might buy a photograph from my friend Alex. I picked it up on Halloween, plus three more :)
The pictures were matted, but I had to find the right frames, which turned out to be harder than one might think. The frame size is 18x24'' and standard sizes (meaning you get plenty of designs at a reasonable price) are only up to 16x20''. I wanted simple silver brushed aluminum frames. I found one design at Aaron Brothers. However, the frames were not designed to hold the mat (about 2.5 millimeters thick), even though the staff had assured me they would. Upon returning them, I was told I could only get store credit for the one frame that I had opened. What a rip-off, considering that I had asked, whether the frames would fit or not. I decided to let it go, and bought the wooden black frame that you can see in the photo of my office.

The picture shows a man stepping onto a street in Tokyo and is slighly blurry. I especially like the colors and the motion in the picture.
That left me looking for three more frames, which I finally found at Michaels. They are shiny silver, but look really good:

The series of three pictures is more abstract. They are shots of buildings and architectures. The lines and shapes are very interesting and I like the contrast between the soft, flowing picture in the middle and the very geometric ones on the sides.
