It never rains in California...

... it snows!

A good friend of mine is visiting at the moment to escape the cold German weather. Ah well, we were trying to get out into the sun for a hike at castle rock state park, just to find quite German conditions:

Snow in this area is quite unusual - it usually happens once every 4 or 5 years. There were kids playing with toboggans and having snowball fights in the parking lot. We decided to do the hike anyway and everyone was quite excited about the weather (except for Insa, of course).
