Night before Surgery
Just a short note before I go into surgery tomorrow. I fully tore my acl about three weeks ago and have been walking on crutches ever since. In the beginning I couldn't even straighten my leg, because of the meniscus damage caused by the injury. After the swelling went down, things improved quite a bit and I've been able to move the leg pretty much fully again.
Tomorrow's procedure will trim the meniscus and replace the acl. I'm a bit nervous about the whole surgery, but I also can hardly wait to get it over with and get back on my own two feet.
I'm incredibly glad that I was able to attend a big family celebration in Germany despite my injury. The picture above shows my nephew Mika having fun with one of my crutches.
Stay tuned. I'll hopefully be able to post how things went in a few days. And maybe I'll also catch up on posting about some other events from the past months, like my trips to Toronto and Germany.
