Wii

Last night I had a chance to check out Nintendo's Wii, which officially launches tomorrow. The Wii rocks! I guess I still won't camp out at the local EB games store to pick one up tomorrow, but I'm tempted. The biggest innovation are the motion-sensitive controllers, which turn playing into a workout. I guess we'll have to get used to people jumping, turning and twisting in front of the TV...

Another striking property is how small and quiet the Wii is. Certainly a sign that it can't compete with the processing power of the Xbox 360 or the newly launched PlayStation 3, but the new controls should provide for many innovative and entertaining games. We certainly had a blast boxing, golfing and playing baseball with the included Wii Sports game.
